Small, quick update for everybody today. First off, I did the Out of Line cd mastering today, so that's all taken care of. Next,
I remixed the One on None song. I wanted to add a little more bass, and I also wanted to
fix a couple cymbal hits that sounded odd thanks to some poor mic placement. I also got a Plan Nine USA cd today, so that brings
the total number of donating bands up to three, and when I counted up all the tracks for the comp the other day, I found about
20 or so! Wow, ok, the comp is done. Next in line at HalfCab Records: J-Walker mastering, Corkscrew vocals and final adjustments,
Drone final adjustments, Tim Kaye donation song (obtaining), general comp prep work and cd structuring. As usual, the deadline
does nothing but get closer. It looks like we'll make it, but there are numerous things to do before I can relax...and go to
school! Hah, I didn't expect going to school to look like going on vacation. But hey, here we are. Comp coming soon.

Ok, it's massive update time. I've been obscenely lazy with updating this frontpage, mostly because I've been so busy in the
actual studio. First off, Supergiant MD is donating a song to the comp,
and I have one picked out for it. This song is seriously good stuff, and I'm extremely glad that they're having it included.
Since the last update, One on None and Fallout have recorded. One on None
is usually a guy named Charlie Mewshaw that plays acoustic guitar and sings, but for his comp song, he convinced his friends from
3 Prong Outlet to back him up on drums and bass. The resulting song...is tight :) Go get it on the music page.
Fallout is a band with a completely different tack; they seem Hendrix inspired, with some crazy guitar meanderings and a very
guitar-centric theme in general. Look for them on the comp, when it comes out!
Another big piece of news is that the J-Walker mixes are finally DONE! Yes, they are all set for some mastering and then a CD
release. Maybe I'll put one up here soon, so you can see what all the fuss is about. :)
Finally, the secret Corkscrew Project is almost done. Brian from Drone came
yesterday and we added drum tracks to almost every song in one marathon recording session. Expect results from this soon...sorry
for the continuing secretiveness.
Oh yes, and the band, Out of Line, that couldn't record earlier gave me their CD. It is in a straight, post-mix form and needs
mastering badly, so that is one final thing being taken care of at HalfCab Records as of now.
The final deadline for anything comp related (9/18/2002) is approaching rapidly. Hold onto your seats and/or hats; it's coming.

Dan, from the band that did Integrosphere, came back to the studio today to touch up
Integrosphere. We did a number of things, and it sounds a whole bunch better. Check it out. I also tweaked Relief, by The Coincidentals, because I didn't think there was enough guitar in my last mix. Check that
out, too :) Ok, that's it. Go about your business.

A lot has been happening lately. Mr Vas Deferens (MVD) recorded successfully a few days ago and then came back the next day
to remix. Their song, Deodorant Bath, will be up here shortly! This friday, 3 Prong Outlet and One on None will record, and
I'll let you know how that goes.
Also, Urban Sombrero, a local band that I know from a few years back, has been kind enough to donate a song to the comp! My
band, The Venkmans, played with this group at Nation a while ago, and this year, they played at our local Warped Tour date
in Virginia. Anyway, look forward to some more good stuff on the comp.

Well, sadly, Out of Line couldn't make it yesterday. Hopefully we can reschedule them for later, but anyway, A Letter Home
came today! These guys drove an hour and a half, all the way from West Virginia, to reach HalfCab Records and do their song
for the comp CD. With a slight hardcore edge and some extreme vocal contrasts, this song brings a new face to the comp music,
expanding its genres even more. So, the comp progresses once again! More news, as usual, later.
