The Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research announces an immediate opening for a skilled individual to work as a Project Coordinator in the Community Engagement Core Resource (CECR). The primary mission of the Irving Institute's CECR is to develop and promote a community engaged research infrastructure at Columbia University Medical Center.  Working under the direction of the CECR Senior Program Manager and co-Directors, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for various tasks that include health literacy efforts, communication, and outreach.

The responsibilities of the Project Coordinator include but are not limited to (1) developing and maintaining communication and marketing efforts to promote CECR services and resources to academic and community stakeholders, (2) using health literacy principles to develop and adapt research materials into lay language in English and Spanish, (3) disseminating research findings to the lay public in a range of formats, (4) using communication principles and strategies to carry out community outreach, research recruitment, and health education activities, and (5) supporting the management of a community health website.

In addition, the Project Coordinator will perform other related duties as assigned. Occasional early morning, evening and weekend hours required. The position is based in the Irving Institute's Columbia Community Partnership for Health located on Fort Washington Avenue near 178th Street in Washington Heights, New York City.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in health education, public health, social work or other associated field, or equivalent in education, training and experience, plus three years of related experience. The candidate must have excellent written and oral communications skills in English and Spanish. Writing samples in English and Spanish are required, and must be uploaded along with a resume and cover letter.

The candidate must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Also must be detailed oriented, and able to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines.

The successful candidate should demonstrate mastery of one or more social media outlets in his/her work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, and Email Marketing software preferred. Degree or experience in Health Communication.
