Vía Verde pipeline plan faces federal hurdles

Carl Axel Soderberg, the EPA’s top official in the Puerto Rico and Caribbean region, said in a letter to the Army Corps of Engineers this month that the Vía Verde plan as drawn up does not comply with the federal Clean Water Act and is lacking adequate mitigation for environmental damages.

On this Wednesday, December 1st, 2010, World AIDS Day, the Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization will celebrate the International Conference on Stigma, to educate health care professionals on how stigma can affect the treatment of HIV patients and how to avoid it. The conference will be held at Howard University, in Washington, D.C.
