NEW YORK, NEW YORK, August 17, 2015  – A diverse team of 16 prominent scientists and educators today announced the launch of a high-profile collaboration that seeks to leverage knowledge from the scientific community to confront the dangers to the U.S. biomedical science enterprise.  Named Rescuing Biomedical Research, the effort tackles the problems identified in several public statements that the team and the scientific community have made, and aims to take the next steps towards making substantive, concerted changes in the way U.S.

Francés Colón is a scientist that serves as the Acting Science and Technology Adviser to the Secretary of State at the U.S. Department of State. She has a bachelors and masters from the University of Puerto Rico and a PhD in developmental Neurobiology from Brandeis University.
