Thank you PARACa Summer VISTA 2023 interns!

This past June and July, Ciencia Puerto Rico was fortunate to host three interns of the PARACa (from the Spanish acronym for Empowerment and Retention of Agents of Change) Summer VISTA Fellowship 2023 (PARACa). We want to congratulate Isaac Correa Pagán, Natalia Ramos Rivera, and Marylys Rivera for successfully completing their internships and thank them for their valuable contributions to our team!

El Programa de Apoderamiento y Retención de Agentes de Cambio (PARACa) es un internado de acción social durante el verano para jóvenes universitarios y recién graduados reconocidos por su liderato y sentido de responsabilidad con Puerto Rico.

My internship experience with CienciaPR

The Agents of Change Empowerment and Retention Program, best known by the Spanish acronym PARACa, is an initiative organized and carried out by the non-profit organization Mentes Puertorriqueñas en Acción (MPA). MPA is composed of students and young professionals aware of the great challenges facing our society both today and the consequences that we could suffer tomorrow. This group of emerging professionals is characterized by recruiting agents of change who are identified by their commitment, leadership and execution at a young age with Puerto Rican society and who are willing to work for the progress and well-being of the country.

Ciencia Puerto Rico support summer internships for students who are interested in leadership and professional development through the PARACa program of the non-profit organization Mentes Puertorriqueñas en Acción. Here, we present a guest post by Christina López, a student at Cornell University, who participated in this program with Ciencia Puerto Rico during the summer of 2014.
