Postdoc Position in Bioorganic Chemistry: UPR Molecular Sciences Research Building

A postdoctoral position in bioorganic chemistry is available immediately to work in the general area of bioorganic chemistry and medicinal chemistry. The project involves the synthesis, characterization and supramolecular studies of hydrophilic guanosine derivatives. The project also involves studying the interactions between such derivatives and DNA. This project is supported by Award Number SC1GM093994 from the National Institute Of General Medical Sciences of the National Institutes of Health. Suitable applicants must have a PhD degree in organic, bioorganic, or medicinal chemistry, with a strong background in multistep organic synthesis, purification and characterization methods. Extensive experience running and interpreting NMR (1-D, 2-D) experiments as well as experience working with nucleosides and/or nucleic acids is desirable.
