Luis González (Universidad del Turabo) recieved 2nd place at the 2nd International Environmental Youth Symposium of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, in Atlanta, GA. The project name was Estimating Evapotranspiration using Pyranometer Sensor Data and Satellite Data.

Manufacturing and Design Division Outstanding Service Award by the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE).

GSBS Student Reyes named Albert Schweitzer Fellow

Researcher at the UPR received NIH grant to study the epigenetics of cleft palate

Dr.Carmen Buxó, researcher at the University of Puerto Rico received an K99/R00 NIH grant called FaceGenes to study the epigenetics of cleft palate.

Professor at UPR Mayaguez received STTR grant from NASA

Dr. Arturo J. Hernández Maldonado, a professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez received a Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grant from NASA. This is the first grant of this type granted to a researcher in Puerto Rican.

Student at the UPR-RUM recieved 1st place for his poster at IISE

Andrés F. Calle Hoyos, student at the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Puerto Rico in (RUM), received an award for his poster (Experimental Design Analysis of Stir Casting of Enhanced Aluminum Filler Reinforced with NbB2 Nanoparticles) at the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) conference in Anaheim, California.

Three scientists from Arecibo participate in world renowned course
