Three students from the University of Puerto Rico awarded at the ERN in STEM conference

Estudiantes del RUM obtuvieron 1er lugar en la conferencia

Three students from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez received the 1st place in different categories at the Emerging Researchers National Conference (ERN) in STEM during February 19-21 in Washington DC. The ERN conference is sponsored by AAAS and NSF.

Jahannie Torres Rodríguez, Computer and Electric Engineer- 1st place in Mathematics & Science Education. Poster: Nanotechnology Videogame for Middle School Students

Héctor Colón Colón, Chemical Engineer- 1st place in Technology and Engineering (Materials Science and Engineering). Poster: Strengthening of Aluminum with Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes by Mechanical Alloying and Sintering

Angelie M. Rivera Rodríguez, Industrial Biotechnlogy- 1st place in Nanoscience/Physics. Poster: Tumor-targeted Magnetic Nanoparticles for Thermo-Controlled Drug Release 

These students were part of the group of 15 students, undergraduates and graduates, part of CREST (Center for Research Excellence in Science and Technology) at the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez.
