CienciaPR has a long history of tapping into the collective knowledge of our community to create educational and informational content to make science accessible and relevant to the Puerto Rican context and culture. We invite members of our community to submit short articles or videos about earthquake-related topics to publish and distribute widely through our website and social media platforms (instructions below). Ask Your Institution's Support for Puerto Rico

If you work at an academic or educational institution outside of Puerto Rico, there are a number of ways in which you can help. In addition to considering donating, or volunteering your expertise or science communication skills, you can also advocate to your university to 1) support relief efforts in Puerto Rico or 2) make accommodations for students and trainees applying to educational or research programs. We recommend you send the message below to Deans of Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate School, Diversity and Inclusion, Student Affairs, etc.

Ciencia Puerto Rico (CienciaPR) is proud to announce that Dr. Greetchen Díaz Muñoz, Director of Science Education Programs and Community Partnerships has been selected as an AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) IF/THEN® Ambassador. IF/THEN®, a national initiative of Lyda Hill Philanthropies, seeks to further women in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through empowering current innovators and inspiring the next generation of pioneers.

CienciaPR partners with Puerto Rico Vector Control Unit to empower schools and communities through science education

Ciencia Puerto Rico (CienciaPR) and the Puerto Rico Vector Control Unit (PRVCU) teamed-up to train scientists and teachers in the design of project-based learning (PBL) lessons. The collaboration is part of the second year of Ciencia al Servicio de Puerto Rico (Science in Service of Puerto Rico), CienciaPR’s flagship education project. Ciencia al Servicio brings together teachers and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) professionals to co-create lessons that empower students to use scientific inquiry, design and discovery to solve locally relevant problems.

CienciaPR’s compass has always been to promote the advancement of Puerto Rico through science. Open call for girls interested in being Science and Technology ambassadors in Puerto Rico
