CienciaPR will establish a physical headquarters in the park, promoting workshops, fairs, and interactive and culturally relevant educational experiences for the whole family.
BAYAMÓN, PUERTO RICO – Ciencia Puerto Rico (CienciaPR) and TV Educational Park Management LLC, administrator of the "Parque de las Ciencias" in Bayamón, announce a strategic collaborative agreement. The main objective of this alliance is the establishment of a physical headquarters for CienciaPR within the science park. CienciaPR's presence will enable both organizations to co-organize a common agenda under the STEAM approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics).
CienciaPR recently held a team retreat at the Park's facilities
Among these, the agreement includes the development of events, workshops, science fairs, and other interactive educational experiences that will merge the excitement of science with the creativity of art and music. These experiences, designed to captivate Puerto Rican children, youth, and families, will have the culturally relevant touch that distinguishes CienciaPR, an organization celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
"Having a physical headquarters at Parque de las Ciencias will allow us to continue advancing the goals established in our new strategic plan, including the establishment of community "Hubs" where scientists, educators, students, and community members can co-create and share power in the production of knowledge.” expressed Dr. Greetchen Díaz, executive director of CienciaPR. “The first community "Hub" will be in Bayamón, thanks to this collaboration.”
For his part, Dr. Jorge Colón, president of CienciaPR's board of directors, highlighted the long-term impact of this union. "By combining CienciaPR's vast educational experience, supported by its network of experts, with the infrastructure and capabilities of Parque de las Ciencias, we are creating a unique and highly relevant platform for the promotion of sciences in Puerto Rico," stated Dr. Colón.
CienciaPR will establish its first community "Hub" in Bayamón.
The Parque de las Ciencias by Toro Verde belongs to the recently inaugurated Network of Science and Technology Museums and Centers of Puerto Rico, which was founded by CienciaPR together with a group of organizations to foster collaborations and strengthen education.
"For Toro Verde, welcoming an organization like CienciaPR and its programs is an honor and a significant step towards consolidating the Science Park as an epicenter of interactive learning in the Caribbean," said Jorge Jorge, president and CEO of Toro Verde Parks. "We want every family that visits us not only to enjoy themselves but also to leave inspired, which we know CienciaPR has much to contribute to."
In the coming months, some of the planned initiatives will be announced through the social media and official platforms of both organizations.
