Puerto Rican lizards adapt to Florida's weather

Dr. Manuel Leal and collegueas from Duke University studied how the Puerto Rican lizard (Anolis cristatellus) has adapted to the weather in Florida. They estimated that it took approximately 35 evolutive generations to adjust to colder temperatures.

A group of researchers from the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) at Río Piedras Campus are trying to generate energy from the waste called "gallinaza" generated by hens.

The Conservation Trust of Puerto Rico (FCPR) was awarded with the "Best environmeatl action" award by the Mapfre Foundation at their Social Awards 2012. The project presented by the (FCPR) was called "Puerto Rico shines naturally" and it took place at thenatural Reserve "Las Cabezas de San Juan" in Fajardo.
