Several people have been reporting seeing 'strange lights' in the Puerto Rican skies recently. The Caribbean Astronomy Society explians that those lights are the reflection of satellites or even space junk.

Contamination is threatening the Guachinanga island, a rare limestone formation in San Juan's San Jose Lagoon. This natural gem is home to coral fossils, rare birds and endangered native trees, and is being threatening by large volumes of trash and invasive species.

The team Microgravity Center for Advanced Nanoscale Materials (Micro-G CANM 2) from the Chemistry Department at the Natural Sciences School at the University of Puerto Rico was one of 5 teams selected to run experiments on zero gravity at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas last week. The team of students was led by Dr. Carlos Cabrera.
