The National Academies is pleased to announce a call for nominations and applications for the 2014 Jefferson Science Fellows program.  Initiated by the Secretary of State in 2003, this fellowship program engages the American academic science, technology, engineering and medical communities in the design and implementation of U.S. foreign policy.

Daniel Colón Ramos, Professor at Yale University and co-founder of Ciencia Puerto Rico, participated in a forum organized by the National Academies in Washignton, DC. During the event Daniel explained the importance of communicating the science to the public, especially in Puerto Rico. Giovanna Guerrero, executive director of CienciaPR, also attended the event.
