The 2nd International Conference on Global Challenges in Neglected Tropical Diseases aims to bring together researchers and other participants from different world regions, where these diseases are prevalent, to interact with colleagues from North, South, Central America and the Caribbean Basin for discussion and knowledge exchange about new approaches for combating these diseases through treatment and prevention. The conference seeks elevating awareness of neglected tropical diseases, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean. The conference will feature spaces for one to one meetings between participants throughout the three days of the event to stimulate collaboration and knowledge exchange between laboratories in the Americas and other parts of the world.

The 2nd International Conference on Global Challenges in Neglected Tropical Diseases is endorsed by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) and will feature various plenary speakers, including: Prof. Marc Ouellet from Université Laval in Canada, Prof. Rick Tarleton of the University of Georgia, Prof. Mariano Garcia-Blanco of the UT Medical Branch/Duke University, Prof. Robert M. Greenberg from the University of Pennsylvania, Prof. Stephen Beverley from Washington University, Santiago Nicholls from PAHO, and from Industry Dr. Dale Kempf of Abbvie Pharmaceuticals. 

The scientific program is being updated on a continuous basis on the conference webpage (www.cafec.org.pr/ntd2018). Scientists of all stages are invited to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations through that website. The abstract submission due date is May 15, 2018.
