DNA tests confirm that the Paso Fino horse originates solely from the Puerto Rican Criollo horse

A new study conducted by professors and students from the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) Mayagüez Campus (RUM), in collaboration with scientists from the United States, Ukraine and Sweden, confirms that the Paso Fino horse originated from the Puerto Rican Criollo horse, with no genetic contribution from other South American Paso horses.
