(Santurce, PUERTO RICO) - The Contemporary Art Museum of Puerto Rico (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico; MAC) and the International Institute of Tropical Dasonomy (IITF) of the United States Forest Service invite the public to the inaguration of the exhibit “POETIC SCIENCE”: artistic-scientific views of El Yunque, this Thursday, February 6 at 7:00pm in the Chrysler room of the Museum.   

“POETIC SCIENCE” is an interdisciplinary project created by MAC in collaboration with IITF and the Forest Service. It unites art and science with the goal of celebrating our Earth, the resources it provides, and all resources protected under the Wilderness Act, created in 1964 to establish the National Wilderness Preservation System. The project launched in March 2013 with an artists in residence experience at El Bosque Nacional El Yunque, organized with the Aldo Leopold Wilderness Research Institute y Colorado Art Ranch. This was the first of a series of six art and science collaborations at six different ecosystems during 2013. The exhibit includes work from both artists as well as scientists of the IITF.

“POETIC SCIENCE” will be open to the public until until May 11, 2014. abierta al público hasta el 11 de mayo de 2014.
