Puerto Rican scientist Jorge Santiago Blay, who works at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C., offered a talk about the giant milipedes of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
During his talk he addressed the ecological importance of these animals and some common unfounded fears of them among the population.
Santiago Blay is collecting images of these milipedes. You can send him the pictures along with when and where they were taken (city or municipality, time, street number, kilometer and hectometer number) to email@example.com.
