The National Hispanic Health Foundation, affiliated with the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, New York University, will award 16 scholarships to dental, medical, nursing, public health, and policy students who exhibit exceptional academic performance, leadership, and commitment to the Hispanic community. Each recipient will receive $5,000. The scholarships will be presented to awardees at the Fourth Annual California Scholarship Gala in Santa Monica on Thursday, November 10, 2011 and the Eighth Annual New York Scholarship Gala in New York City on Thursday, December 1, 2011. Applicants must be enrolled full-time and seeking a professional degree at medical, dental, nursing, public health, or policy schools located in California for the California Gala Event; in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut for the NYC Gala Event. Applicants are not required to be Hispanic; an affinity for the health of Hispanic communities and an interest in participating in NHHF Scholars Alumni activities is needed.
