The Baldwin School of P.R. is the premier independent, PPK-12, college preparatory, English language day school in Puerto Rico. It is also the first school authorized as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP), Middle Years Program (MYP), and Diploma Program (DP) in the island’s history.

The Middle/Upper School Design Technology & Robotics Teacher will serve as a faculty member at The Baldwin School of Puerto Rico for a full twelve-month period. This position is required to be on duty at the school on all designated school days, orientation days, and teacher workdays.

Requirements

Requirements:
● Experience guiding students to apply practical and creative thinking skills to solve design problems.
● Experience facilitating the IB Design Cycle by guiding students through the analysis of problems, development of feasible solutions, and the creation of solutions.
● Experience facilitating the study of computer coding and programming.
● Experience with a variety of programming languages.
● Experience with current web development technologies.
● Experience with developing apps for mobile devices.
● Knowledge of more advanced academic computer science topics, such as artificial intelligence, compiler design, computer graphics, machine vision, programming language design, algorithms, operating systems, etc.
● Experience with multiple operating systems, including Windows 7/8, Mac OS X, and Linux.
● Experience teaching Lego, Vex, and Vex IQ Robotics, and has the energy, capacity, and willingness to build a competitive Robotics program. (The competitive program will require some after-school and weekend commitment.)


Minimum Requirements:
● Experience working in an IB School preferable.
● Must possess complete fluency in English, fluency in Spanish is not required but preferred.
● At least three (3) to five(5) years of experience in the educational field, preferably in teaching both middle and upper school students.
● Excellent writing & public speaking skills.
● Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
● The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; familiarity with the goals, objectives, and mission of an independent college preparatory school; the ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse and demanding student and parent population.

The Baldwin School of P.R. is the premier independent, PPK-12, college preparatory, English language day school in Puerto Rico. It is also the first school authorized as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP), Middle Years Program (MYP), and Diploma Program (DP) in the island’s history.


The Middle/Upper School Design Technology & Robotics Teacher will serve as a faculty member at The Baldwin School of Puerto Rico for a full twelve-month period. This position is required to be on duty at the school on all designated school days, orientation days, and teacher workdays.

Requirements:
● Experience guiding students to apply practical and creative thinking skills to solve design problems.
● Experience facilitating the IB Design Cycle by guiding students through the analysis of problems, development of feasible solutions, and the creation of solutions.
● Experience facilitating the study of computer coding and programming.
● Experience with a variety of programming languages.
● Experience with current web development technologies.
● Experience with developing apps for mobile devices.
● Knowledge of more advanced academic computer science topics, such as artificial intelligence, compiler design, computer graphics, machine vision, programming language design, algorithms, operating systems, etc.
● Experience with multiple operating systems, including Windows 7/8, Mac OS X, and Linux.
● Experience teaching Lego, Vex, and Vex IQ Robotics, and has the energy, capacity, and willingness to build a competitive Robotics program. (The competitive program will require some after-school and weekend commitment.)


Minimum Requirements:
● Experience working in an IB School preferable.
● Must possess complete fluency in English, fluency in Spanish is not required but preferred.
● At least three (3) to five(5) years of experience in the educational field, preferably in teaching both middle and upper school students.
● Excellent writing & public speaking skills.
● Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
● The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; familiarity with the goals, objectives, and mission of an independent college preparatory school; the ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse and demanding student and parent population.

● Demonstrates enthusiasm about teaching students of different cultures and levels who possess a range of abilities and learning styles in both middle and upper schools.
● Ability to work in groups/ team teaching.
● Requires energy, creativity, organization, and a strong commitment to a lively community of students and educators.
● Interest in and agreeable to sponsoring an after-school activity.
● Possesses a demonstrated commitment to the School's Mission, Vision, Pedagogy, professional development goals, and overall educational goals.
