RESPONSIBILITIES:     
The Assistant Director for the Center for STEM+eXcellence, within the Craft Academy for Excellence in Science and Mathematics at Morehead State University, works closely with the Director to manage the daily operations of the Center and implement the Center’s vision. The Assistant Director assists the Director of the Center in developing state-wide programs and initiatives that address learning loss due to the pandemic and provide enrichment opportunities that extend and enhance learning through summer and academic year STEM+X programs. The Assistant Director leads the STEM+X program application and selection process.
 
REQUIREMENTS:  Master’s degree in a STEM or STEM education field. Additionally, the Assistant Director will have the following minimal requirements of K-12 Teaching experience in a STEM field, informal Instructional Program Management/Participation, content expertise in a STEM discipline

REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor’s degree in STEM, communications, marketing, or other related fields, 2 years of Public Outreach experience or STEM program recruitment experience, and have outstanding written communication and presentation skills
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience communicating STEM content with children, parents, educators, and the public. Needs to be self-motivated, friendly, enthusiastic, and community driven. RESPONSIBILITIES:  The STEM+X Curriculum Coordinator coordinates the Center’s efforts to integrate within its programs science, technology, engineering, mathematics curriculum and curricular opportunities with the Craft Academy’s three X focus areas: 1) Creativity and Design, 2) Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and 3) Civic and Regional Engagement. The STEM+X Curriculum Coordinator ensures all STEM+X program curriculum is aligned to the vision and goals of the Center. The STEM+X Curriculum Coordinator develops and oversees the implementation of a strategic STEM and +X integrated curriculum for Center programs.
 
REQUIREMENTS:        
Bachelor’s degree in STEM or STEM education.  Three (3) years of K-12 STEM related work experience.  Working knowledge of K-12 academic standards (example: Next Generation Science Standards) Communication and writing skills.  Ability to integrate +X focus area concepts (creativity and design, innovation and entrepreneurship, and civic and regional engagement) into Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) curriculum design.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Informal STEM education experience. Experience in grant writing and development. Communication and writing skills.
