This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID), Division of Vector Borne Diseases (DVBD), Dengue Branch (DB), located in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  

KEY REQUIREMENTS

U.S. Citizenship is required.

DUTIES:

 As IT Specialist you will:

Perform a variety of IT duties associated with national health information systems, public health and vector borne diseases.

Perform fact-finding, design, software surveys, and/or cost/ benefit analyses for new or modified computer applications resulting in the design or modification of systems, especially those related to epidemiology surveillance and laboratory information management.

Design and monitor the execution of software testing and implementation plans; and conduct post implementation evaluations of systems.

Develop recommendations to change system requirements to meet the needs of multiple users and/or alternatives for consideration when problems arise.

Plan, construct, and maintain databases for data storage, manipulation, and retrieval.

Have working knowledge of AGILE principles for project management and file storage solutions.

Develop applications programs for a variety of software applications in support of the assigned organization.

Prepare and maintain detailed internal and external documentation for all application programs in a clear and readily understood manner.
