Deadline to apply to Ponce School of Medicine's PhD program in Biomedical Sciences is JANUARY 15. Application Requirements: 1. BS degree at a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum of 35 credits in sciences including the following courses: General Biology 2 semesters (8 cr.) General Chemistry 2 semesters (8 cr.) Organic Chemistry 2 semesters (8 cr.) Calculus 1 semester (3 cr.) Physics 2 semesters (8 cr.) 2. Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) 3. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) test (only general subject test is required). 4. Appear for a personal interview. 5. Submit the following documents: •Official transcripts of all universities attended. •Three letters of recommendation from professors or individuals familiar with the applicant’s professional work and skills. •Official GRE scores (www.gre.org) •Certificate of No Penal Record •Completed application form. •Application Processing Fee of US $100.00 (non-refundable) •Other documents may be required upon acceptance. MBRS-RISE TRAINING PROGRAM (for PhD students) MBRS-RISE fellows receive: * $20,000 annual salary * PAID tuition * Allowance for lab supplies and travel * Mentoring, professioanl development, etc... If interested in applying to PSM's MBRS-RISE Program you must complete an application to the Ph.D. program AND in addition submit a separate application to the RISE Program BOTH by January 15. RISE admission decisions will be made after students have been officially accepted into the PhD program. To be eligible for the RISE program, students must be U.S. citizens or non-citizen nationals/permanent residents, and must be matriculated full-time in the Ph.D. program.
