Description: CCI is seeking a Surveillance Data Coordinator for a proposed position. Children with elevated BLLs have been identified as a result of a blood lead prevalence study and further testing by health care providers. Working collaboratively with CDC Healthy Homes and Lead Poisoning Prevention Program and the Puerto Rican Department Of Health, CCI staff will collect, manage, clean, analyze and report child and adult blood lead test result data throughout Puerto Rico. Specific activities will likely include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Outreach to all laboratories collecting child and adult blood lead test data for Puerto Rico

• Oversight of submission of laboratory blood lead data from laboratories to Puerto Rico Department of Health

• Oversight of identifying data errors and working with laboratories to make data corrections

• Management and basic analysis of surveillance data

• Preparation of reports of surveillance data output

• Participate in monthly conference call with CDC staff person to discuss progress, barriers, etc.

 

Qualification: Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. Interpersonal skills to be able to effectively interact with personnel of the Puerto Rico Health Department and Laboratory Services in the private sector.
