Evaluation Criteria:
1. U.S. citizen or permanent resident in an underrepresented minority group (African-American; Hispanic; American Indian or Native American, Pacific Islander or Native Alaskan)
2. academic record, particularly in science; laboratory experience
3. stated interest in biomedical research and career goals
4. recommendations from faculty at student’s institution (strongly recommended to be science professors)
