The Murry lab is seeking an energetic student to continue work on the fish communities of Puerto Rican reservoirs in support of PR DNER fisheries management. The position will begin August 2021 and will provide up to three years of funding including stipend and tuition pending successful completion of project goals. The project has wide boundaries so the student will be encouraged to work with Dr. Murry and PR-DNER biologists to tailor a project that suits their personal interests as well as DNER science/research needs. West Virginia University has an excellent freshwater aquatics program and the Murry lab will have concurrent projects examining large river fish communities, aquatic invasive species, and climate change - the student will be encouraged to engage in. The graduate student body in the Wildlife and Fisheries Resources program is highly social and mutually supportive. The department hosts a very active chapter of the American Fisheries Society. There are ample resources to be successful and launch a career in fisheries management.

Please send questions or to apply please send a letter of interest, college transcripts, and a CV to brent.murry@mail.wvu.edu. Review of applications will begin immediately and will end when the position is filled.
