The College of Biological Sciences announces up to two tenure track positions in Cellular Biophysics at the level of assistant professor with the potential to hire at the tenured associate level. Successful candidates will be committed to interdisciplinary interactions and poised to take particular advantage of advancing optical and biophysical imaging methods, mathematical modeling and/or chemical approaches in the analysis of intracellular transport and cell motility. Specific research areas of interest include:

  • Signal transduction in relationship to cell contacts, intracellular transport, cell motility, molecular imaging and tissue engineering
  • Intracellular transport of macromolecular complexes and organelles as related to the establishment of cellular asymmetries
  • Chemical biology of protein interaction and its relationship to drug discovery
  • Protein engineering and molecular imaging in the cell
  • Complex molecular systems, synthetic and systems biology as related to the focus on intracellular transport and cell motility
  • Instrumentation development for biophysical imaging
