Group of Advanced Materials Dynamics is seeking a motivated postdoctoral scientist with background in condensed matter physics and optics. This fellowship will provide the opportunity to work with experimentalists and theorists in the Physics Department of the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez, USA. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team to conduct research in the field of Ultrafast Nonlinear Optics and Condensed Matter Physics. For additional details, please visit: http://fisica.uprm.edu/light/

The research program focuses on experimental investigation of fundamental nonlinear processes in correlated oxides upon photoexcitation, including light-induced insulator-to-metal phase transitions. The employee will be responsible for independently conducting research using different experimental techniques of ultrafast spectroscopy, THz spectroscopy and optical diffraction. The candidate will contribute to numerical data analysis and the preparation of figures and text for manuscripts. The individual is expected to write and submit manuscripts based on the work in the laboratory.

Required Qualifications:

1. PhD degree in Physics/Applied Physics or related field.
2. The candidate should have a strong background (supported by publications) in condensed matter physics and optics.
3. Experience in working with ultrafast laser systems is highly desirable.
4. Experience in programming and numerical data analysis.
5. Good writing and communication skills.

 Application should include:
(1) letter of application;
(2) curriculum vitae;
(3) contacts for three academic references

Applications should be sent to Dr. Sergiy Lysenko:
