Postdoctoral Position in Brain Tumor Cancer Stem Cells A postdoctoral position is available immediately at Stanford University to study cancer stem cells (CSCs) in human brain tumors. This work will focus on two constitutively active molecules that we have discovered, JNK2 and EGFRvIII, and their role in promoting properties of CSCs. The project will involve defining the participation of these molecules in inducing and maintaining the properties of CSCs and how it might relate to growth of normal stem cells. A component of this project will also focus on translating these findings into novel cancer therapeutics. The applicant will join a highly interactive group dedicated to understanding basic signaling pathways and developing novel therapeutics for cancer. The approaches we take range from mammalian cell culture, molecular biology, biochemistry, systems biology to mouse genetics. A strong background in molecular and cellular biology is essential...
