Research Technician - Biology - #032290 - Provide specialized technical assistance and independently perform specialized laboratory activities for a neuroscience research laboratory in the Department of Biology. Perform experiments that use in situ and immunocytochemical methods to study central nervous system signaling of taste stimuli including L-amino acids and related substances in rats and transgenic mice. Compile research data, maintain records, coordinate work-study students, and prepare support materials, with supervision from designated principal investigator. Bachelor's degree in related science and one year related laboratory experience that includes experience with molecular biology techniques or molecular genetics required, or an equivalent combination. Ability to perform research procedures in which research animals (rats and mice) will be humanely killed and perfused, and tissue will be harvested.
