Position Summary

We are seeking a Project Manager who will help manage a multi-campus research project sponsored by the Helping to End Addiction Long-term (HEAL) initiative of the National Institutes of Health. The research involves a novel approach to develop non-addictive, mRNA-based analgesics that can replace opiates for the treatment of pain. The project will be centered at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole and led by J Rosenthal, PhD but also has significant components at Yale University, The University of Texas at Dallas and Tel Aviv University. The successful candidate will work as part of this large inter-disciplinary team and will provide administrative and study related support through executing a variety of tasks. The successful candidate is a highly organized, mission-driven professional with a detail-orientation, who can track and drive deliverables forward, while keeping everyone on the same page and building strong relationships along the way. Significant duties will include organizing and assembling quarterly reports for the NIH, and scheduling meetings between team scientists and representatives from the four project worksites. A respect for how each individual task lends itself to the big picture and accomplishment of study goals is a helpful perspective for the Project Manager to possess. This is a full-time position for 3-5 years, dependent on continued federal funding.
 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the PI and ensure cooperation between participating institutions
  • Facilitate workflow of projects and carefully track milestones for QTR reporting to NIH
  • Prepare draft progress reports and power point presentations for PI refinement
  • Serve as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders, including the Scientific Oversight Committee and other core-related committees
  • Assist PI/Office of Sponsored Programs in implementing conflict resolution and intellectual property/data management
  • Set agendas for meetings to facilitate communication and keep the meeting on track
  • Track and report expenses
  • Coordinate annual conference of team investigators and stake-holders, including travel itineraries
  • Microsoft Office suite and data management software skills
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the PI

Required Qualifications

  • Master of Science Degree
  • 5+ year of related experience is required; a combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Administrative experience on collaborative scientific projects
  • Calendar management or event planning experience
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and a team player
  • Knowledge of, or experience with, Intellectual Property management
