Dear Researcher/Hi-Tech Entrepreneur:
The Puerto Rico Science Technology and Research Trust is pleased to announce the launch of a SBIR/STTR Preparation Workshop to provide participants hands-on experience and expert assistance in the preparation of competitive proposals to be submitted to the SBIR/STTR funding program. To learn more about the Small Business Innovation and Research (SBIR) and the Small Business and Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, click here.
This is not a lecture based effort. Participants will bring in first drafts of their proposals to the workshop. From these drafts, the Workshop aims to identify weaknesses and help correct them by working through examples as a group and one-on-one coaching in real-time to generate quality proposals.
This SBIR/STTR Workshop will be coordinated by Dr. Juan E. Figueroa, former SBIR Program Manager at the National Science Foundation (NSF). The team of instructors consists of former SBIR/STTR Program Directors at NSF and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) with many years of experience in writing and evaluating proposals as well as extensive entrepreneurship experience. The workshop consists of a two-day session where the group is expected to generate working drafts of full SBIR/STTR proposals and establish a pathway to submission for these proposals. Experts will be working side by side with participants to craft proposals suitable for funding. Participants will be able to work on their proposals applying what is learned on the workshop allowing them to have a clear understanding on what is be required for submission and a strong start to reaching that goal by the end of the two-day activity.
Only participants with at least a first draft of the proposal will be selected to participate in this workshop. To be considered, please fill out the Application Form and submit it no later than March 31st, 2016: firstname.lastname@example.org. Applicants selected to participate in the workshop will be notified via email by August 15th, 2015.
