The members of the NIH HuBMAP Consortium are asking your help to inform undergraduate students at your institution and/or from other relevant listservs about an exciting new virtual internship opportunity in biomedicine for Summer 2021. Please note that the deadline for applications is soon, Feb 15, 2021. Please see a description about the program below.

The HuBMAP program is an NIH effort that involves a diverse, dedicated group of laboratories across the country seeking to create a detailed map the human body, all the way to the level of single cells. Please see a short introductory video HuBMAP YouTube

If you are part of an underrepresented group and/or are a disadvantaged student (see the NIH criteria), and you would like to work with a HuBMAP consortium member this summer, apply to our internship program today!

This virtual internship program provides a fantastic opportunity to build connections, add to your experience, and conduct vital research in the single cell community. Our researchers are eager to work with you and have funds available to provide internships to qualified students.

Eligible students will need to meet all of the requirements below. They need to be:

  • College undergraduates at an educational institution within the US majoring in any of the STEM fields with a minimum of 3.0 grade point average.
  • At least a sophomore undergraduate student at the time of application.
  • An underrepresented/minority student (as defined by NIH) who are US citizens or permanent residents. See the NIH criteria.

You can find more details about the opportunity here: https://hubmapconsortium.org/internship-program/. Feel free to visit the HuBMAP YouTube channel to learn more about HuBMAP.

We recognize that our target students have specific needs that are different from typical undergraduate students doing summer research. The HuBMAP program PIs and NIH staff are committed to ensuring the success of the internships within this initiative.
