Are you applying to PhD, MD/PhD, or summer internship programs in the biomedical sciences and need help with the application and personal statements? You are invited to participate in the 2016 Yale Ciencia Academy workshop “Personal Statements: How to Stand Out in Your Application”.
This interactive workshop will provide an orientation about graduate school programs in the life sciences: how to know if graduate school is a good choice for you, what to expect from graduate school applications, and tips on how to stand out. Students will also learn how to effectively write a personal statement.
A subset of students who submit their graduate school, fellowship, or summer internship application essays in advance will be eligible to participate in a one-on-one session to review their personal statement. During this session, students will have the unique opportunity to meet and work in their personal statements with the help of Yale Ciencia Academy (YCA) fellows, who are graduate students who have already gone through this process, as well as other scientist mentors.
This event will be on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at UPR-Medical Sciences Campus from 12:30pm to 5pm
Although this event is free we do ask participants to register at: http://bit.ly/29XOLG8.
