About 400 employees of pharmaceutical Bristol-Myers Squibb, in Mayagüez, will lose their jobs in the next few months, because the plant will cease operations in the Island.

The Government should stop immediately the digging being done by the New South Associates Company in the Tibes archeological site in Ponce, because their intervention is causing irreparable damage to the site, said archeologist Jaime Pagán Jiménez. The company, hired by the United States Corps of Engineers, is using the wrong methodology to perform their works and is risking the possibility that the site could help reconstruct Puerto Rico’s pre-columbine history, said Pagán Jiménez.
