Harlequin butterfly of Puerto Rico needs help

The United States Fish and Wildlife Service is evaluating the status of the Harlequin butterfly of Puerto Rico to determine if it needs federal protection as an endangered species. USFWS needs scientific information about the historic distribution of the species, its status, actual distribution, population size, biology, ecology and genetics. They also need information on current preservation measures and the threats that the species is facing. Lion fish threaten manatee

After being released into a controlled environment at Punta Salinas beach, Tuque, the manatee is being threatened by the presence of lion fish. Given the size of the manatee it's unlikely that the lion fish could kill Tuque, but its venomous spines could harm the manatee.
