The Puerto Rican Senate recently introduced a measure to modify the law authorizing Puerto Rico's Fideicomiso de Ciencia y Tecnología to, among other things, oversee contracting and develop a Science and Technology District in Rio Piedras comprised of the area designated for the "Sciences City" and leaving open the possibility of also including the Medical Sciences Center premises.

The Joint Commission found several irregularities at the Trauma Hospital of the University of Puerto Rico Medical Center. Those irregularities in the areas of patient security, medication management, emergency management, patient care environment, infection control and prevention, leadership and medical personnel need to be corrected before this November 4th.
