An endangered natural wonder

The Emerald cave is connected to the northern karst aquifer system and supplies 25% of the total water demand in Puerto Rico. However, this invaluable ecosystem is being threatened by the construction of the Via Verde gas pipeline proposed by the government, since the pipeline's path is directly over the cave.
