A group of distinguished puertorrican and foreign epidemiologists met for two days with the staff from the Puerto Rico Science and Techonology Trust (FCTI) as part of a collaboration with the University of Puerto Rico and the University of Georgia. This initiative seeks to identify tools and methods to diagnose, treat and prevent zika and other similar viruses.

European researchers described an extremely abnormal fetus' brain from a woman that was infected with the Zika virus during her third trimester. An autopsy revelealed the presence of the Zika virus in the fetal brain.

A small asteroid, with a trajectory that is not well known, will be near Earth in the beginning of March. According to NASA, astronomers have descarted the possibility of impact and will seek to define its orbit.
