NSF GeoFutures program is accepting applications for students interested in attending the 2022 SACNAS conference. The program will support the participation of geoscience (Atmospheric, Earth, Ocean and Polar Science) undergraduates at the 2022 SACNAS conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Students are provided with support to cover travel, registration and lodging.

The American Astronomical Society’s (AAS) Committee on the Status of Minorities in Astronomy (CSMA) is offering grants of up to $500 to BIPOC undergraduate students applying to astronomy or physics graduate programs this fall. Students do not need to be a member of the AAS to apply for funds.

Experts question Department of Health's inaction on COVID-19 and offer recommendations to improve public health response

A group of health professionals, scientists and physicians questioned the lack of action by the local Department of Health in the face of the high number of COVID-19 infections in Puerto Rico and offered specific recommendations to improve the public health response at this point in the pandemic. The statements were made during a press conference organized by the NGO and scientific collective Ciencia Puerto Rico (CienciaPR, www.cienciapr.org).
