Anunciando un nuevo programa de investigación de verano que brindará a estudiantes universitarios la oportunidad de obtener experiencias de investigación en Yale en la intersección de la neurociencia, la psicología, las ciencias de cómputos y la ingeniería. Ejemplos de áreas de investigación incluyen brain imaging, artificial intelligence y machine learning, social robotics, neurofeedback y la integración de estructura y función de neuronas.

A call to support science and the University of Puerto Rico

As the university system that has produced (by far) the largest number of Hispanic/Latinx STEM PhDs in the U.S., the University of Puerto Rico is one of the most important scientific institutions for assuring a diverse and well-trained STEM workforce. The contributions of the UPR to education and research impact Puerto Rico's economy, culture, and social well-being. This is why we share this letter from the Alliance for Science in the UPR addressed to Judge Swain and a call to our community to show its support for the UPR and its concern about the impact of budget cuts.

The Aguadilla Campus of the Inter American University of Puerto Rico is the only institution in Puerto Rico that will be part of a collaborative effort that will establish an Integrated Biology Institute focused on viruses. Together with researchers from four institutions in Arkansas and Maine and funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), viral interactions and mechanisms at all levels of life will be studied.

The Department of Biology of the University of Puerto Rico at Humacao (UPRH) announces the virtual celebration of the 18th edition of Bioscience Week under the slogan Bioscience: Innovation that Works! Researchers from the School of Medicine of the Medical Sciences Campus (RCM) of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) have found for the first time characteristics of the immune response to Covid-19 in Puerto Rico. The group of researchers, led by Dr. Carlos Sariol, Researcher and Director of the Comparative Medicine Unit and Dr. Ana M. Espino, professor and Director of the Parasite Immunology Laboratory of the Department of Microbiology, recently published the results of the study in the prestigious scientific journal Viruses.
