The Medical Sciences Campus from the University of Puerto Rico is studying the role of cMyBP-C, the myosin-binding protein C that controls the intensity and rhythm of heart contractions. By understanding the function of the muscular walls of the heart we can better prevent and treat cardiac disease. The study was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America Journal.
