CROEM's Radioastronomy Program highlighted in Science

We share this note published in Science magazine describing a NASA program to educate high school and college students about how space can be explored with radio waves. CROEM High School in Mayagüez is one of several sites across the U.S. and Puerto Rico where students have listened to solar broadcasts using radio antennas they created.

Activities to celebrate CROEM's 54th Anniversary Announced

Students who obtained perfect scores in mathematics on the College Board and one who was nominated for the Presidential Medal will be recognized.

Mayagüez - The Association of Graduate Students of the Mayagüez Residential Educational Opportunity Center, better known by its acronym CROEM, announced the activities scheduled to celebrate CROEM Week and CROEMITA Day, declared by proclamation of the Puerto Rico Government's Department of State.

Students from the Centro Residencial de Oportunidades Educativas de Mayagüez (CROEM; a specialized STEM school in Puerto Rico) won first place in the “Veggies in Space o NASA Growing Beyond Earth (GBE)” competition sponsored by NASA.

Three Puerto Rican students won bronze medals at the XXXII Ibero-American Mathematics Olympiad, which was held recently in Iguazu, Argentina.

The students, trained by professors from the Mayagüez University campus (RUM), were Sebastián Latin, from the residential Center of educational opportunities of Mayaguez (CROEM); Omar Santiago, high school specializing in science, mathematics and technology (CIMATEC); and Miguel Tulla of the school Notre Dame, these last two in Caguas.
