Dr. Jorge L. Santana Bagur, Professor from the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Science Campus in collaboration with Universities in the United States and Canada, are working simultaneously on a study to test the efficacy of a vaccine agaist zika virus.

A study implemented by the Medical Sciences Campus at the University of Puerto Rico in collaboration with Columbia University in New York, has positively impacted hundreds of gay men and transgender women through the distribution of more than one thousand home tests as a prevention method for the spread of HIV.

The Imaging Center of the School of Medicine from the Medical Science Campus at the University of Puerto Rico has been transformed into the research site for some of Puerto Rico's most important clinical investigations. This thanks to the advanced technological equipment –MRI 3T, CT Scan y ultrasonido– offered at the Imaging Center.

The Graduate School of Public Health from the Medical Science Campus at the University of Puerto Rico will celebrate the V Puertorrican Conference on Public Health. This Conference will bring together the principal international researchers and academics with the purpose of discussing the most pressing and diverse topics in public health at a global scale. With the purpose of transforming the 600 teachers that are participating in the AIRE project into Mentors for Asma; the School of Health Professionals from the Medical Science Campus, the Program for Asma from the Health Department and the Program of Scholar Health from the Department of Education joined forces to develop a seven day training initiative that will impact all educational regions in the Country.

This event served to conscientize the public about the disease and to discuss existing and non exisitng public policies for the care and treatment of Alzheimer patients.
