Vermont EPSCoR offers paid summer internships for undergraduates through two grants: Research on Adaptation to Climate Change (RACC - www.uvm.edu/epscor/undergrad) and Northeast Water Resources Network (NEWRnet - http://newrnet.org/undergrad).  Students spend 10 weeks designing and working on their own independent projects, and present their results at the annual research symposium

Student from Puerto Rico is awarded first prize in nanoscience at an NSF in Washington, DC

Nicole Blanco-Vicéns, student in the Departament of Industrial Engineering and member of the Applied Optimization Group of Dr. Mauricio Cabrera-Ríos, won first prize in the nanosciences category in a poster competition that took place during the 2013 NSF Emerging Researchers National Conference in STEM, held in Washington DC from February 28 to March 3rd. 

The CienciaPR team and her group and department are very proud of her success and congratulate this young scientist on her achievements.
