The University of Puerto Rico - Humacao in a collaborative effort with the Residential Center of Educational Activities in Ceiba are working on the proyect, Cybernetic girls are femenine. This program will educate ninth grade girls in robotic courses in order to increase the number of women in STEM fields.

Latina Science Outreach and Diversity Advocate Is Among 65 Inspiring Women in STEM Award Winners

Dr. Mónica I. Feliú-Mójer, Vice-Director for Ciencia Puerto Rico (CienciaPR) and Science Outreach Program Manager for iBiology, has been selected to receive the 2016 Inspiring Women in STEM Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine.

This award honors women who work to make a difference in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Dr. Feliú-Mójer will be featured, along with 64 other recipients, in the September 2016 issue of INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the largest and oldest diversity and inclusion publication in higher education.

San Juan - The Arecibo Observatory is recruiting students from 9th-12th grade to particpate in an intensive research program next semester. The program will last ten saturdays and will focus on designing and developing a research project related to planetary sciences and the habitability of humans in space.
