Welcome to CienciaPR, an expert and resource network for all who are interested in science and Puerto Rico.
I am originally from Dallas, Texas and attended university at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I am the first person in my family to graduate from both high school and university. I am passionate about education, diversity and inclusion, and increasing public access to science.
My project is highly interdisciplinary and involves principles of statistical/quantitative genetics, genomics, immunology, and toxicology. I study how interindividual genetic variation modulates responses to environmental pollutants -- particularly their influence on respiratory immune function.
