Design of Metallocene Anticancer Agents Our major goal is the development of new and more efficient metal-based anticancer agents. Currently our project involves the structure modification of metallocene dihalide complexes (I) which possess antiproliferative properties with pendant groups that can provide more hydrolytic stability by incorporating polar functional groups or by incorporating sex steroids to design target specific agents against breast, ovarian and prostate cancers. Cytotoxicity and DNA Microarray studies are performed on the modified complexes to establish structure-activity relationship.
