About Me:
Born in Mayaguez P.R. My interest in Vascular disease started at eleven years of age, after watching a show on coronary revascularization. Through many stages, I was concentrated on becoming a heart surgeon, it was during surgical training that my interest change completely to the peripheral circulation. Since the beginings of my training as a vascular specialist and with the guidance of my program director, my interest in research began. Multiple projects on venous thromboembolism were initiated by me and some of them paid with peer reviewed publications. My latest presentation at the American Venous Forum was awarded the "Servier Traveling Fellowship". Whish entails presenting the data in Europe and visiting multiple venous centers in France. My special interest is in technological development in venous surgeries and interventions. Soon to be back in the island and hopefully start some protocols at my institution. The island and the "Boricuas" need you, so what are you waiting for...

Quantitative Benefits Of Isolated Segmental Pharmaco-Mechanical Thrombolisys for Iliofemoral DVT
Is a direct comparison of different techniques for removal of thrombus in the proximal veins with high thrombus burden. The idea is to prevent the effects of venous oclussion and valvular damage. It demonstrated that newer devices can do it faster and better. Long term follow up is being esablished.
