Ciencia Puerto Rico

I strongly believe that becoming a graduate student allows me to conduct a research
project and contribute with ideas to solve problems and fulfill my desire to acquire,
develop, and improve the essential skills required to become a successful scientist. Obtaining the necessary knowledge, which is of utmost importance when it comes to
answering the most difficult questions in science, and when it involves human life, to be
a key contributor in my field of research. Hence, such privilege provides me with
further awareness of the approaches, issues, and research methodologies used in today’s
science. As a Puerto Rican and first generation college graduate, I am committed to
promoting research and education because I wish to help introduce others into the
scientific community.
