2017 Summer Internship Request for Proposals

Impactivo is a social impact consulting firm that specializes in the fields of health and healthcare, childhood and education and philanthropy. We produce solutions that translate research and policy to action and build systemic, operational and strategic funding capacity. Impactivo offers a wide array of services in Systems Research, Policy Analysis, Strategic Planning and Financial Sustainability to support leaders at the forefront of social innovation in making strategy and organization decisions that lead to exceptional results. We are dedicated to the development of initiatives that improve the health status, educational attainment, and general wellbeing of communities.

Impactivo is currently accepting proposals from graduate students in a Public Health related program for the Summer of 2017. The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit proposals from various candidates, conduct a fair and extensive evaluation based on criteria listed herein, and select the candidate who best represents the mission of Impactivo.

Proposal Guidelines

This Request for Proposal presents the requirements for an open and competitive process. Proposals will be accepted until 5:00 pm AST April 14, 2017. Any proposals received after this date and time will be returned to the sender. Proposals must be submitted in Word and PDF format.

Project Purpose, Description & Scope

Project Purpose: The purpose of this project is to give Public Health students an opportunity to be expose to possible work scenarios post-graduation.  The student will enjoy a full-time experience where they will develop new competencies while tackling a public health issue or challenge.

Project Description: This Summer internship is designed for Public Health students who are currently active. It is the expectation that the students complete an investigative research focused in one of the following topics:

  • Update to the State Health Plan
  • Telemedicine Infrastructure in PR
  • Public Health Workforce Needs Assessment
  • Develop a framework for health education and intervention of chronic diseases patients
  • Health Systems leaders assessment

Project Scope: This request for proposal extends, but is not limited to:

  • Master’s in Public Health Students & Faculty
  • Students based in Puerto Rico and/or the continental United States

Request for Proposal and Project Timeline

Request for Proposal Timeline:

All proposals in response to this RFP are due no later than 5:00 pm AST March 31st, 2017.

Evaluation of proposals will be conducted from April 1st, 2017 until April 30th, 2017. If additional information or discussions are needed with any submitters during this window, the submitter(s) will be notified.

The decision for the selected submitter will be made no later than May 1, 2017.

Upon notification, the recruitment process with the selected submitter will begin immediately. Recruitment will be completed by May 15, 2017.

Notifications to submitters who were not selected will be completed by May 15, 2017.

Submitters Qualifications

Impactivo will be accepting proposals from currently active graduate students completing their master or doctorate degree in the field of Public Health. Submitters must include as part of the proposal evidence of studies.

Impactivo will evaluate all proposals based on the following criteria. To ensure consideration for this Request for Proposal, your proposal should be completed and include all the following criteria:

  • Area of interest: proposed project must tackle one of the areas of interest listed in the project description.
  • Student status: Academic status of the submitters must be verified and appear as active in the institution indicated.
  • Proposal content: Proposal must include the following parts:

    • Objectives
    • Scope
